What is READ CURSIVE FAST?

READ CURSIVE FAST is the book that teaches cursive reading to any child or adult who can read print.

Most of today’s children, teens, and even many educated adults have never learned to crack the code of cursive.

Many others have survived years of elementary school cursive handwriting instruction that did not actually let them gain or retain the ability to make sense of this way of writing — no matter how many cursive lessons were mandated.

A survey of college entrants in Toronto, Canada found that most of them could not read cursive — not even the ones who had been required to learn and write cursive in elementary school. Just 10 years after learning cursive, they had forgotten not just how to write it, but how to read it.

Until now, kids (or adults) who haven’t learned cursive had no way to read the cursive handwriting that they see in our nation’s historical documents or anywhere else. 

Being told that “You’ll pick up how to read cursive by copying it” isn’t much help when you cannot read the cursive examples that you are copying because they are in cursive.

The problem is vast, and it is growing. Awareness of this issue, and of its consequences, has even made its way into the plot-line of an episode of THE SIMPSONS.
